Meet the Team: Susan Hudson
We’re pleased to welcome Susan Hudson to Aberdein Considine as our new Learning & Development Manager. To help everyone get to know her a little better, we asked Susan a few questions about her background, interests and what brought her to the firm.
What is your area of expertise?
I specialise in Learning and Development.
What’s your background in Learning & Development?
I’ve worked in HR for nearly 40 years, with the last 24 focused on Learning & Development. I spent several years with the Armed Forces across the UK and in Germany before returning to Aberdeen in 2006. Since then, I’ve worked as L&D Manager for Stewart Milne Group, and now I'm excited to be part of Aberdein Considine.
What attracted you to Aberdein Considine?
Aberdein Considine is a well-known brand with an excellent reputation. I was drawn to the opportunity to work for a professional and ambitious company that’s clearly striving to achieve even more.
What’s a career or personal highlight you’re particularly proud of?
I’m proud to have led award-winning Learning & Development programmes. One standout was a Leadership Development Programme called Managing People for Growth, which showed that great leadership skills can transcend industries. Another was an Apprenticeship Programme delivered entirely in the workplace—tailored specifically to our industry, and not reliant on college-based delivery.
If you didn’t work in Learning & Development, what career might you have chosen?
I’d have loved to be a vet—though I’m not sure I could cope with the emotional side. Either that or a criminal prosecution lawyer!
